Visitor Information

We are now open daily from 11.30 to 5.00 - no pre-booking necessary.  The gift shop is open (as are the lavatories!).  We have a wide range of interesting plants for sale.   Parking is free, and dogs on leads are very welcome.  Our tearooms are currently closed, but with plenty of benches all around the gardens, why not bring a picnic?

Additional Information

Dogs: Dogs on leads are welcome throughout the gardens.

Picnics: You are welcome to bring a picnic  - lots of benches with great views!

Disabled Access: Disabled facilities are provided but some areas of the Gardens are not accessible to wheelchairs. Download our access statement.

Special Opening: Hergest Court is open by appointment. Please contact Hergest Estate Office for more information.

How to find us

The gardens are on Ridgebourne Road in Kington.


From Kington Town Centre follow Church Road until it becomes Montfort Road at the junction with Hergest Road. Continue over the brow of the hill and turn immediately left into Ridgebourne Road.

From Floodgates, turn off the A44 (signed Kington/Huntington) onto Montfort Road. After approximately 400 metres turn right into Ridgebourne Road.

The car park for Hergest Croft Gardens is approximately 450 metres up Ridgebourne Road on the right hand side. If you have a blue badge or need to drop off someone with limited mobility then continue past the car park and take the first turning on the left.
