Hergest Croft & Maples Tearoom

Winter Building Work

Unfortunately, extensive renovation to Hergest Croft is required and will be taking place over this winter. The bay windows and verandah are starting to lean away from the front of the house and need to be taken down and rebuilt. Work on this will commence almost immediately after the Gardens close for the season on Sunday 2 November and is due to be completed ahead of re-opening in March 2026.
Melanie Lloyd, who holds the franchise for Maples Tearoom, will still be opening for weekend lunches. A warm welcome and blazing fire will no doubt await, but please do be aware that there will be hoardings and scaffolding at the front of the house which will completely block off the bay windows overlooking the Garden.
