Our Autumn Plant Fair on Sunday, 10 October was a huge success, with hundreds of happy visitors buying plants and enjoying the gardens! The weather was wonderful: mild, sunny; all the trees looked gorgeous in the golden light. Contact details for the stallholders are on the Events page.

A delightful response from one of our recent visitors: "We visited Hergest today, September 7th. We had such a lovely visit that I thought it well worthwhile making contact to leave a comment or two. Although we arrived before the official opening time we were fortunate enough to meet your head gardener,Steve, who obviously has green fingers but is also a great conversationalist and has such an amazing fund of horticultural knowledge. The outcome of this was being able to acquire an Acer which I had only seen once fifteen years ago. We had a delightful stroll around the gardens and our visit was then enhanced even further when we had lunch in the tea room. I wonder where you managed to find such a cheerful and friendly group of ladies to look after your customers and to serve up top quality food. Our plant purchases were even carried to the car by Angela your delightful receptionist. What an experience, congratulations to them all."
