Shakespeare'sTwelfth NightPerfomed by Rain or Shine Theatre Company More traditional in an English summer than rain clouds, Rain and Shine's production of Twelfth Night, Shakespeare's romantic comedy, is a colourful story of disguise, music and of course the food of love - a mix which is sure to be a family favourite. Now in their 10th year, Rain or Shine Theatre Company, winner of the buxton Festival Fringe 'Best Drama Award' and renowned for its 'exquisite' outdoor renditions of classical comedy - from shakespeare to Sheridan - is set to delight audiences once again, whatever the weather, as it embarks on an ambitious 55 date open air UK summer tour of one of the funniest plays ever written. The opening week of the tour includes a one night only performance at Hergest Croft Gardens on Sunday, 10th Jue at 7.30pm - tel 01544 230160 or buy tickets on-line via www.rainorshine.co.uk. In Twelfth Night a girl disguised as a boy confuses evrybody, and storms, shipwrecks, late night drinking, duels and broken hearts make fertile grounds for pure Rain or Shine MAGIC in one of Shakespeare's most beautiful and haunting of comedies. Directed by James Reynard, the 8 strong Gloucester based professional troupe's whistle-stop three month tour encompasses outdoor venues across the UK from the tiny Channel Island of Alderney to Newcastle and from Haverfordwest to Cromer - visiting along the way some of the land's most beautiful and picturesque castles, stately homes and gardens. Audiences are invited to bring their own low-backed seating or rugs, and a picnic, to maximise their enjoyment of the 'al fresco' performances. Tickets can be purchased from each venue. The gates open at 6pm. True to its name, the company performs in all weathers (except hurricanes and blizzards). |
