SCULPTURE EXHIBITION OPENS AT HERGEST CROFT

The Sculpture in the Garden IV exhibition in aid of the Kingsland Millennium Green Trust opened on Saturday August 25 and will continue until Sunday September 17th.

More than forty works by 23 national and international artists are on display throughout the garden. All works are for sale and five works were already sold at the preview night on Friday. 25% of the sales price goes to the trust. Among the stars of the show is Angela Conner’s magnificent “Rocking figure” that dominates the lower lawn with the view to the ancient manor house of Hergest Court. Angela’s work is in numerous collections including Chatsworth House. There is even an exhibitor from France Phillipe Julien showing “Eole, Goddess of the winds”

Jill Probyn of the Trust said “ we are delighted to be back at Hergest Croft Gardens where the sculptures look wonderful amongst the late summer glories of the gardens”

Lawrence Banks, the owner said. “We are so pleased that the Exhibition has come back this year. The Trust has made a huge contribution to Kingsland in saving this vital piece of open space for local people. I think that the works look marvellous in the setting of Hergest Croft Gardens and I am sure that they will appeal to buyers of differing tastes from the abstract to the representational”
