Haywood Cabin is perched at the top of Hergest Croft Gardens, just above the Maple Grove.
It is an idyllic rural setting, perfect for those looking for undisturbed peace and tranquillity.
Guests at the Cabin are offered complimentary admission to Hergest Croft Gardens, with the added
benefit that they are free to visit outside opening hours and enjoy the gardens at their most serene.
You can wander through the kitchen garden, spectacular spring and summer borders, orchard,
garden and slate garden. You can also lose yourself in Park Wood, which is home to magnolias,
camellias, bluebells and a stunning rhododendron flower fall, as well as many native species.
Teas are served in the old dining room of Hergest Croft.
Newly converted from an old workshop, Haywood Cabin offers cosy but spacious studio
accommodation for two people. Reached by a steep track, it is located by the side of an old
farmyard, now home only to a couple of horses and a brood of chickens. A previously ruined
and overgrown stone pig house has been converted into a south-facing patio garden with
spectacular views across to the Black Mountains.
Large, bright bed-sitting area with exposed beams and west-facing windows sleeps two. Zip-linked
mattresses provide either kingsize double bed or twin beds. Towels and Egyptian cotton linen are
provided and black-out blinds ensure that you are not woken by early morning sunshine. There is
a wall-mounted TV with Freeview and DVD player.
Luxury shower room with heated towel rail.
Separate, well-equipped, fitted kitchen opens on to patio.
Sunny, south-facing patio garden, sheltered to the east by spruce and fir trees, offers view across
Haywood Common to the Black Mountains. A chiminea enables you to stay warm when sitting
outside even on a chilly evening. There is a wooden table and four chairs.
Change over day is Friday but short breaks are sometimes available by arrangement.
Rates from £180 to £330 per week.
